The Eden Project is an attraction quite unlike any other. Set in a reclaimed Kaolinite pit near St Austell, the family favourite features two huge artificial biomes that house thousands of plant species from around the world. The two structures recreate a tropical and Mediterranean environment respectively.
The biomes feature two different microclimates; the rainforest biome and the Mediterranean biome. You can feel tropical heat in the jaw-dropping rainforest biome where huge trees and plants dwarf visitors. It has four separate environments within it; Tropical Islands, Southeast Asia, West Africa and Tropical South America.
The Mediterranean biome is a cooler experience that also features South African and Californian style landscapes. The restaurant and tiled buildings will make you feel your walking the countryside in Spain.
With outstanding sculptures and other pieces of art places amongst steamy jungles and waterfalls, there’s plenty to see for people of all interests. Along with the stunning gardens, the Eden Project also plays host to a variety of events including music concerts, art exhibitions and workshops.
